Notorious Stanley Cup winning center is shown sans helmet in this
6¾x7½ newspaper photograph.
Newspaper Photograph signed: "Craig MacTavish" in blue felt,
B/w 6¾x7½, affixed to a 7x7¾ card (2 surfaces). Craig MacTavish (b.
1958) is a hockey player of Canadian descent, starting his major hockey
career in 1979. He played in the NHL for 17 seasons with the Boston
Bruins (1979-1984), Edmonton Oilers (1985- 1994), New York Rangers
(1993-1994), Philidelphia Flyers (1995-1996), and the St. Louis Blues
(1996-1997). The center positioned player is notorious for being one of the
last NHL players to play without the use of a helmet, helping cement his
reputation in hockey history. MacTavish was suspended through the 1984-1985
after being convicted of vehicular homicide while driving under the
influence, spending a year in jail as punishment. As of late, the past center is
now the general manager for his former team, the Edmonton Oilers. Light
surface creasing from being affixed to card. Otherwise, fine
condition.
