The Tony Award winning actor/producer sends best wishes to a fan
Autograph Note Signed: "To Kayo -/Best -/Cy Feuer", 4½x3 card. Magazine photograph, b/w, 1¾x2¾, affixed at left margin. Broadway producer Cy Feuer (1911-2006) won four Tony Awards: Best Producers (with Ernest H. Martin) - Musical for Guys and Dolls (1951); Best Producer (Musical) and co-producer of the Best Musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (1962), and a Special Lifetime Achievement Tony Award in 2003. Feuer, who was nominated for six additional Tonys, also produced film musicals, including Where's Charley? (1952), Cabaret (1972), Piaf (1974) and A Chorus Line (1985). He also was the musical director for a number of films between 1938-1947, and was a composer for both films and television, including the stock music for the TV series, The Lone Ranger. Feuer was best known for his Broadway productions, however, and he and Martin were at their peak from 1950-1955, collaborating with such greats as Cole Porter, who wrote the music and lyrics for Can-Can (1953) and Silk Stockings (1955), and Neil Simon, who wrote the book for Little Me, for the Feuer-Martin team. They also worked with composer and lyricist Frank Loesser, and Feuer is credited with making a star of Julie Andrews, after discovering the teenager in Liverpool and casting her in The Boyfriend (1954). Feuer published his autobiography, I Got the Show Right Here, in 2003. Slightly creased at blank corners. Lightly soiled at upper blank margin. Fine condition.
