CYRIL RITCHARD
He contracts to appear on TV's Kraft Music Hall for $5,000, and also initials two amendments
Contract signed: "Cyril Ritchard", 12 pages (front and verso), 8½x11. Also initialed twice "CR". New York, N. Y., 1967 October 24. Ritchard commits to an appearance on The Kraft Music Hall, to be taped in New York City on October 29, 1967 and broadcast December 20, with rehearsals beginning October 23. Ritchard is to receive $5,000 for this appearance, and $2,500 each for any second and third replay. Ritchard is promised billing as a "Special Guest Star". British musical comedy star Cyril Ritchard (1897-1977) may be best remembered by American audiences for his Tony-winning portrayal of Captain Hook in the Broadway (1953) and TV versions of Peter Pan. (He won a second Tony, this time as Best Actor, for The Pleasure of His Company, 1959) His film appearances, though infrequent, spanned half a century, including an atypical villainous role in Alfred Hitchcock's Blackmail (1929). Corners slightly worn and creased. Toned. Light surface creases. Staple holes in top left corner. Binding holes on top margin. Pencil notes (unknown hand). A portion of the image has been obscured to protect sensitive information. The original document does not contain these concealing marks.
