of Vance. Captioned: "Man on the Move: Secretary of State Cyrus Vance".
Accompanied by original collector letter. Cyrus Vance (1917-2002) was
Secretary of the Army (1962-1964), Deputy Secretary of Defense (1964-1967)
and Secretary of State (1977-1980), resigning the latter post because of
disagreements with President Carter over the failed attempt to rescue the U.S.
hostages in Iran. He conducted many important diplomatic missions for
President Johnson, including participation in the Paris Peace Conference on
Vietnam (1968-1969), and for President Clinton in Bosnia. Mailing label in lower
left. Corners worn and creased. Light surface creases. Some areas faded. Pages
slightly toned. Slightly soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
