Lithuanian-born Polish poet Czeslaw Milosz (1911-2004) won the 1980 Nobel
Prize in Literature in recognition of his "uncompromising clear-sightedness
voices man's exposed condition in a world of severe conflicts." His most
compelling poems, written as a witness to the Holocaust, were banned in
Poland until after he received the Nobel Prize. Ink notes (unknown hand) on
verso shows through faintly. Otherwise, fine condition.
