Accompanied by a color 10½x8½ of the team and framed to 18½x24 overall. The Dallas Cowboys as a franchise was created in 1960, since that year the team has won five Super Bowls. Coming off of a 24-3 Super Bowl victory over the Miami Dolphins in 1971, the 1972 Cowboys were geared up for another strong season. It was Tom Landry's thirteenth season as head coach and he had a group of future Hall of Famers on his team including Herb Adderley, Mel Renfro, Mike Ditka, Bob Lilly and quarterback Roger Staubach. The team finished 10-4, second in the NFC east, and moved on to the playoffs as the wild card team. In their division playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers, Roger Staubach orchestrated a comeback 30-28 win in the final two minutes; the game is still considered one of the Dallas Cowboys greatest wins. However the momentum from the win did not carry over into the NFC championship game, and the team lost 26-3 to the Washington Redskins. The defense of this generation and a number of the signers are part of the Cowboys original "Doomsday Defense". America's Team still entertains and dazzles television viewers and spectators at Cowboys Stadium during every football season. Frame lightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition. Not framed in Gallery of History style. Previously authenticated by JSA.
