Copy of Brahms Trio no. 1 in B major op. 8, performed by Isaac Stern, Pablo Casals and Dame Myra Hess, recorded at the 1952 Casals Festival at Prades, Pyrénées-Orientales, France. With one 11¾-inch diameter 33 1/3 RPM record. Published by Phillips. Hess (1890-1965) was a British pianist known for her interpretations of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Schumann, She made her concert debut in 1907 in London, England and, after touring Europe, debuted in the United States in 1922, where she became a favorite soloist and ensemble musician. During World War II, Hess became famous for arranging and performing at daily concerts at London's National Gallery to boost morale... even at the height of the German bombardment of London in 1940! She was made a Dame Commander of the British Empire in 1941. Lightly toned, soiled, stained and creased. Worn edges and corners. Bottom edge is partially separated with tape remnants. Impressions from record on cover. Record is lightly scratched. Otherwise in fine condition.
