Actor and dancer Dan Dailey (1917-1978) moved from vaudeville to Broadway (Babes in Arms, 1937) to Hollywood. Recipient of a Best Actor Oscar nomination for When My Baby Smiles at Me (1948), he also appeared in such films as Meet Me at the Fair (1952), The Pride of St. Louis (as pitcher Dizzy Dean, 1952) and It's Always Fair Weather (1955). Dailey was also seen on television in such series as The Governor and J.J. (1969). Mother Wore Tights, a musical in which Dailey was billed second after Betty Grable, was 20th Century Fox's most successful film of 1947, notching an Oscar for Best Original Score, and two other nominations. ½ inch piece cut from each corner. Unevenly cut at bottom. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). Surface damage above "Best Wishes". Otherwise, fine condition.
