Walter Thompson Company, Los Angeles, California to Dailey c/o the Shurr-Melnick Agency. Dailey is hired to appear on the Lux Radio Theatre on February 23, 1953, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in a production entitled "You're My Everything". Dailey, the show's sponsor, Lever Brothers Company, and J. Walter Thompson Company were to "make every effort to keep confidential the amount being paid you." Also signed by a representative of the J. Walter Thompson Company. In the year he signed this contract, Dailey appeared on the big screen in Meet Me at the Fair, Taxi, The Girl Next Door and The Kid From Left Field. Actor and dancer Dan Dailey (1917-1978) moved from vaudeville to Broadway (Babes in Arms, 1937) to Hollywood. Recipient of a Best Actor Oscar nomination for When My Baby Smiles at Me (1948), he also appeared in such films as Meet Me at the Fair (1952), The Pride of St. Louis (as pitcher Dizzy Dean, 1952) and It's Always Fair Weather (1955). Dailey also appeared on television in such series as The Governor and J.J. (1969). Lightly creased. Staple holes at upper left corners. Ink blot under representative's signature has transferred to page 2 (minor show-through at two lines of type). Slightly soiled from carbon. Overall, fine condition.
