Henning", B/w 8x10. Football coach Dan Henning was born on June 21, 1942
in Bronx, New York. He played quarterback in college at The College of
William and Mary and was on the AFL's San Diego Chargers' roster for three
years. Over his forty plus years coaching he served as the head coach
for the Atlanta Falcons (1983-1986) and San Diego Chargers (1989-1991) and
as offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions (1992-1993), Buffalo
Bills (1997), New York Jets (2000), Carolina Panthers (2002-2006) and the
Miami Dolphins (2010). His career record as a head coach in the NFL is
38-73-1 and his offensive coordination for Carolina in 2003 led the
team all the way to a disappointing loss in Super Bowl XXXVIII. Henning is
also known for his creative "Wildcat" offense used by the Miami Dolphins
in 2010, a formation which is now used throughout the league. He also served as
head coach at Boston College (1994-1996) where he discovered a sports
