Autograph Letter signed: "Dane Clark", 2 pages (front and verso), 8½x11. Postmarked Mountainhome, Pennsylvania, 1961 August 10. On letterhead of the Johnny-Cake Inn, Ivorytown, Connecticut to Charles Forsythe ("Dear Chuck"), New York, N.Y., in full: "I've been hearing that you keep making nice noises about me, well bless your big fat Greek heart. You're a love and there's a big fat kiss coming your way. Thanks pal! We are a big fat hit on tour and if you can call at our show - try - I"d like it. We will be in Paper Mill Playhouse, Milburn, N.J. next week - now at the Pocono Playhouse. However, I'll be commuting from New York - so give me a toot if you're in town. Yours." Accompanied by the transmittal envelope postmarked Mountainhome, Pennsylvania, August 10, 1961, and addressed to Charles Forsythe, New York, New York. Dane Clark (1915-1998) usually played a tough guy, often one from his native Brooklyn, in war and western movies of the 1940s and 1950s. His most highly regarded films included Moonrise (1948) and Go, Man, Go (1954). He starred in the TV series Wire Service (1956) and Bold Venture (1959), making dozens of guest appearances on such programs as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Twilight Zone and The Untouchables. The letter's recipient, Charles Forsythe was an off-Broadway and regional theatre director and producer. Normal mailing folds. Lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
