Inscribed photograph signed "To Mr & Mrs Peppino/Every good wish/Dane Clark" in blue ink. Pencil notations on verso in unknown hand. B/w, 7¼x9¼. Photo by Bert Six and Warner Brothers, with purple and black ink photo credit stamps on verso. Joseph "Peppino" Micoli was the owner of Peppino's Restaurant on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California. Clark (1915-1998), born Bernard Zanville, usually played a tough guy, often one from his native Brooklyn, in war and western movies of the 1940s and 1950s. His most highly regarded films included Moonrise (1948) and Go, Man, Go (1954). He starred in the TV series Wire Service (1956) and Bold Venture (1959), making dozens of guest appearances on such programs as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Twilight Zone and The Untouchables. Lightly toned, cracked, creased and bowed. Light chipping along edges and creases. Lightly worn and rounded corners. Otherwise in fine condition.
