DANE CLARK
Two Clark signatures on attached documents committing him to an acting performance on the Nash Airflyte Theatre
Contract signed: "Dane Clark", 5 pages, Page 1: 8½x11, Pages 2-5: 8½x14. New York, N.Y., 1950 October 23. Agreement with the Management Corporation of America for Bowman's appearance in a TV play on the Nash Airflyte Theatre, November 9, 1950. Bowman is to be paid $1,500 for this live performance. Accompanied by attached documentary letter signed "Lee Bowman", dated 1950 November 13, attesting that Bowman acted as his own counsel in signing the original contract, and understood its terms, notwithstanding MCA's recommendation that he seek independent counsel. Dane Clark (1915-1998) usually played a tough guy, often one from his native Brooklyn, in war and western movies of the 1940s and 1950s. His most highly regarded films included Moonrise (1948) and Go, Man, Go (1954). He starred in the TV series Wire Service (1956) and Bold Venture (1959), making dozens of guest appearances on such programs as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Twilight Zone and The Untouchables. Clark was the sole performer on the episode scheduled here, titled "I Won't Take a Minute." Ink notes (unknown hand) on pages two, four and five. Ink stain on verso of page five. Lightly creased. Overall fine condition.
