LetterIn Full: "Dear Mr. Gamble:/As requested in your letter of November 22nd, I have enclosed/for your personal collection a necktie and an autographed/Christmas card./May I take this opportunity to thank you for including me in your hobby./Aloha" Daniel Inouye (1924-2012) was a United States Senator from the state of Hawaii. Inouye served in WWII as a member of the 442nd Infantry Regiment. Once Hawaii was named a state in 1959, he became its first member of the House of Representatives. In 1962, he became the state's first U.S. Senator. He was the first Asian-American member of the House and the first Asian-American Senator in U.S. history. He served the state of Hawaii as a U.S. Senator for nearly 40 years, from 1963-2012. For his military service, Inouye was awarded the Medal of Honor, and for his service in government, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Toned. Mailing creases.
