Newspaper photograph signed: "Danny/Gare" in blue felt. 4x5. Danny Gare (b. 1954),
known for his unstoppable quick wrist shot, is a retired NHL right wing who played 14
seasons in the NHL with the Buffalo Sabres (1974-1982), the Detroit Red Wings
(1982-1986), and the Edmonton Oilers (1986-7). Gare is a two-time NHL All-Star (1980
and 1981). After he retired in 1988, Gare coached briefly for the Tampa Bay Lightning, and
then became the color analyst for the Columbus Blue Jackets (2006-2009). In 1994, He
was inducted to the Buffalo Sabres Hall of Fame, and in 2005, his jersey number, 18, was
retired. In the NHL, Gare played 827 games, earning 354 goals and 331 assists. Edges
irregular. Lightly toned on verso. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine
condition.
