A letter from Kaye thanking the recipient for enjoying his show, and
saying how much he enjoys hearing from them
Typed letter signed: "Danny Kaye". 1p, 7¼x10½. No place,
1964 April 27. On his personal imprinted stationery to Peter. In
full: "I was delighted to receive your thoughtful letter. I am so pleased
to know that our show is welcomed in your home. I don't have have (sic)
any color photographs, so I'm sending you a black and white one under separate
cover. It will arrive within ten days. We very much appreciate hearing from you
and hope you continue to enjoy the show. Sincerely". Danny Kaye
(1913-1987), a versatile mimic, singer, dancer and comedian, moved from
Broadway to films. His popular movies included White Christmas (1954)
and The Court Jester (1956). The winner of an honorary Oscar (1955) and
the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award (1981), Kaye devoted his later years to
humanitarian efforts for the world's children. Slightly creased and soiled.
