signed again on verso with a quotation: "When in doubt/Stick your left hand
out."
Autograph Quotation on Photograph signed twice: "Danny
Malloy/Welterweight Champion/of Scotland". Sepia, 4¾x6½. Also signed on
verso: "When in doubt/Stick your left hand out/Danny Malloy". Scottish
boxer Danny Malloy (b. 1929) defeated Willie Whyte for the Scottish Region
Welterweight Championship on October 3, 1953. After losing two more fights
by knockout, he retired from the ring six months later. His career professional
record was 12-8-5, having scored 7 knockouts and suffered 5. Malloy was also
known for his soccer skills, playing for Stenhousemuir in the Scottish
Football League. A street in his home town of Falkirk is named for him.
