Commemorative envelope signed "Danny McDevitt" in blue ink. 6½x3½. Envelope honoring the 1961 World Series-winning New York Yankees with a 2¾x2¼ fabric illustration by Susan Rini at left edge. Postmarked Stadium Station, Bronx, New York, Feb. 21, 1995. One color American flg stamp affixed. McDevitt (1932-2010), a native of New York City, was a major league pitcher from 1957 to 1962, mostly with the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers. McDevitt started for the Dodgers' last game before they moved to Los Angeles in 1957. He was also part of two championship rosters - the 1959 Dodgers and 1961 New York Yankees - although he didn't play in the World Series. In all, McDevitt had a career record of 21-27 with an ERA of 4.40, seven saves, four shutouts and 303 strikeouts. Envelope is sealed and empty. Lightly toned. Lightly soiled on verso (no show-through). Otherwise in fine condition.
