DANNY THOMAS.
He signs a contract with Warner Bros in 1954.
Contract signed: "Danny Thomas" in ink, 2p, 8½x11, separate sheets. Burbank, California, 1954 January 4. Contract in letter form from Warner Bros., signed by an assistant secretary, to Thomas, modifying his employment agreement of December 15, 1951. Warner Bros. requests that he grant them additional time to submit to him two stories, and that he in turn has advised them that, due to his commitments with respect to certain television programs, he would prefer that they do not submit any literary properties to him, and by mutual agreement, their contract be cancelled and terminated. Danny Thomas (1912-1991) debuted onscreen in 1947 in The Unfinished Dance, beginning a brief film career in corny leads or supporting comic roles. He was much more successful on TV, starring in the long-running sitcom Make Room for Daddy (later re-named The Danny Thomas Show). He also was featured in a number of TV specials and made guest appearances on variety shows. Entering production in the 1950's, Thomas was producer for American classics The Andy Griffith Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Gomer Pyle and The Mod Squad. He founded the St. Jude's Research Hospital, which is dedicated to finding cures for catastrophic children's diseases. He is the father of actress Marlo Thomas. Lightly creased. Staple holes at upper left corner. Fine condition.
