4x6 photo, shown in the ice for Toronto Maple Leafs
Photograph signed: "David/Keon/#14". Color, 4x6. David Keon (b. 1940) won the Calder Trophy as best NHL rookie with the 1960-1961Toronto Maple Leafs, the first of six consecutive 20-goal seasons for the hockey centre. He played on four Stanley Cup-winning Leafs teams, including the 3 consecutive triumphs (1961-1963) and another in 1967. He clashed repeatedly with then owner Harold Ballard, jumping to the World Hockey Association when Ballard refused to play him or to allow a trade to another NHL team. His bitterness toward the franchise endured, even after Ballard's departure, but he has begun attending ceremonial events in recent years. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Fine condition.
