In full: “Hi William, Greetings from Upper Havana…Home of Palmetto Bugs, Alligators, Fire Ants, West Nile Mosquitos, Cubans and Hurricane capital of the world. Thank you for your nice letter. I think you may have watched me more than I did; which wouldn't be difficult. I still find it tough looking into the mirror while shaving. Whenever I don't look, I end up shaving someone else. I hope what I'm sending is OK. As you might imagine, being retired, I've run out of a lot of things…like food. (kidding)…I think I'm kidding. I'd better go look. You wait here…Yes, looks like I was kidding. However, I've decided to keep the food. Go buy your own! I'm pleased to be part of your collection. I always thought I should be collected. My mother prayed for it. Fortunately, I managed to leave home before her prayers were answered. I hope all is well in Steilacoom…I think I worked a nightclub in your area once. Well, maybe not a nightclub…more like a saloon. Not exactly a saloon; sort of a large rest room…Toilet stall? Anyway, that was undoubtedly before you were born. How depressing… I need to go lie down.
