Pre-printed letter with facsimile signature on verso, in full: "Dear Mets Fan: Thanks so much for your nice letter. The New York Mets and I are happy that you have such an active interest in our team. Johnson (1943-2025) played second base for the Baltimore Orioles (1965-1972), Atlanta Braves (1973-1975), Philadelphia Phillies (1977-1978) and Chicago Cubs (1978) and managed the New York Mets (1984-1990), Cincinnati Reds (1993-1995), Baltimore Orioles (1996-1997) and Los Angeles Dodgers (1999-2000). His Mets won the 1986 World Series and the 1988 National League East, his Reds won NL Central in 1994 and 1995, and his Orioles won the American League East in 1997. In 1973, Johnson's 43 home runs, one behind the NL leader, set the Major League record for second basemen as the Braves became the first team ever to have three 40-HR men: Johnson, Hank Aaron, and Darrell Evans. Lightly toned and bowed.  Light dents in top left corner. Light impressions on image (not visible head-on). Blue ink stains on verso. Otherwise in fine condition.
