DAVID DOYLE, CO-SIGNED BY: DON PORTER
The actors are seen at a muture age in this 4x6 candid photograph signed with inscriptions by both
Inscribed photograph signed: "To Clint/Don Porter" and "To/Clint/David Doyle" in blue felt. 4x6. American actor Don Porter (1912-1997) appeared in occasional feature films from the early 1940s, and made a US Army training film, Resisting Enemy Interrogation (1944). He played incumbent Senator Tucker Jarmon, upset by Robert Redford in The Candidate (1972). He starred in the hit play Any Wednesday (1964). Porter really came into his own on television, however. He played Ann Sothern's boss on Private Secretary, and Sally Fields' widowed father on Gidget, and his numerous guest spots included multiple appearances on The Bionic Woman and Dallas. American actor Doyle (1929-1997) had acting credits in over 100 movies and TV shows between 1959 and 1998, as well as numerous Broadway plays in the 1950s and 1960s. But you probably remember him best as Bosley from Charlie's Angels (1976-1981), a role that earned him an Emmy Ward nomination in 1977 and a Golden Globe nomination in 1980. Your kids may know him better as the voice of Grandpa Pickles in Rugrats from 1991 to 1998; Joe Alaskey took over the role after Doyle's death. His big break came in 1956 when he replaced Walter Matthau as Michael Freeman in the original Broadway production of Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?. Fine condition.
