Inscribed Photograph signed: "To Robert,/My many thanks,/David Dukes" in black ink, B/w 8x10. David Dukes (1945-2000), born in San Francisco, California, was a stage and screen actor who appeared in well over one-hundred titles during his career. While best known for his role as Howard Hallenbeck in the 1986 film Rawhead Rex, Jo Buillon in the 1991 television movie The Josephine Baker Story (which earned him an Emmy nomination), and David Lewis in the 1998 film Gods and Monsters, Dukes also appeared as a guest star in a number of popular television titles including All in the Family and Three's Company. Dukes was no stranger to the stage, having appeared in eighteen Broadway productions during his career including his debut The School for Wives (1971), Dracula (1977-1980), Bent (1980, which earned him a Tony nomination) and his last appearance as Dr. Harry Hyman in the original production of Broken Glass (1994). While shooting the Stephen King mini-series Rose Red, David Dukes suffered a fatal heart attack, ending his career. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Corners lightly creased.
