Services. Extremely rare!
Typed letter signed: "David Ennals ", in black ink, 6x8¼.
London, England, August 4, 1975. On the letterhead of the House of
Commons, to, "Dear Mr. Jones", Norman Jones, Leicester, in full:
"Many thanks for your letter and your kind remarks. I enclose an autographed
picture of myself as requested [not included], and send you bet wishes.
Yours sincerely". David Ennals (1922-1995) served as Britain's
Secretary of State for Social Services from 1976 to 1979. Previously he
served as a Member of Parliament for Dover and Parliamentary
Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department. An activist for human rights,
he was Campaign Director for the National Association for Mental Health,
later serving as Chairman and President of the Association. He was also
Chairman of the Gandhi Foundation. Normal mailing folds. Pencil notes
(unknown hand) on verso. Fine condition.
