Publicity photo captioned in lower margin. David Frizzell (b.1941) and
Shelly West (b.1958) became American country music legends with the release
of their 1981 duet, "You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma". A number one
hit, the song won Country Music Association's Song of the Year and Vocal Duet
of the Year awards. They were also awarded the Academy of Country Music
award for Vocal Duo of the Year in 1981 and 1982. Frizzell and West
continued to record together until 1986, producing 4 albums with top ten
singles. Since their split, Frizzell and West have reunited to perform together,
most recently in 2013 at the Americana Theatre in Branson. Signature at "David"
slightly smudged, but legible. Signatures seep through on verso. Otherwise, fine
condition.
