DAVID GREENEThe skilled TV and film director pens this letter to a collector, providing a 3-shot photo from one of his recent projects Autograph Letter signed: “David Greene-” in black ink, 1p, 8½x11. 1985 September 7. To “Dear William Stanhope”. In full: “I'm moving my offices & don't have an individual shot of myself handy/ Hope this 3-shot will do, it's very recent. That's Lindsey Wagner & Chris Sarandon, working with me on a TV movie (NBC) which will be aired soon. Regards”. Before establishing himself as a director, David Greene (1921-2003) was in the navy and worked various odd jobs. He eventually began working for the Canadian Broadcasting Company in 1952 where he earned a reputation for solid leadership as a director of action and adventure shows as well as a handful of movies. Three of the more notable films directed by Greene include The Shuttered Room (1967), Sebastian (1968), and The Strange Affair (1968). Throughout the course of his career he won three Emmy awards, retiring from directing in 1999. Lightly toned. Corners and edges gently worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
