Forrest David Mathews (born in 1935) was only 33 years of age when he became
President of the University of Alabama, his alma mater. Mathews, a
Democrat who served as the University's President from 1965-1975 and from
1977-1980, was the Secretary of the now-defunct Department of Health,
Education and Welfare under Republican President Gerald R. Ford from
1975-1977. Since 1981, he has been the CEO and President of the Kettering
Foundation. Minor surface creases and scratches (most not evident head on),
some at facial image. File nicks at blank left edge. Fine condition.
