David Rogers (1939-1993) was a trumpeter, guitarist and country singer. Rogers formed his own band, the David Rogers Band, in 1962 and which played the Atlanta's Egyptian Ballroom for several years. Owner Kathleen Jackson, who later became his manager, paid for his first demo, which earned him a contract at Columbia. Rogers released four albums between 1972 and 1974 to appear on the Billboard Country Albums top 100, and he also began playing the Grand Ole Opry in 1967, and he toured until his death in 1993.
