Ticket to The David Susskind Show at Studio Five at WNEW-TV, New York
City, dated Sept. 4, 1969. Susskind hosted the talk show Open End,
which began its run in New York City in 1958. His show, syndicated in 1961
and renamed The David Susskind Show in 1967, included interviews
with Nikita Khrushchev. Susskind (1920-1987, born in
New York City, is an Emmy-winning TV and movie producer, as well as
host of the talk show Open End, which was later renamed to The
David Susskind Show and ran from 1958 to 1987. Susskind fought in World
War II as a communications officer on an attack transport and saw action at Iwo
Jima and Okinawa. He became a press agent for Warner Brothers and later a talent
agent after re-entering civilian life and eventually became a producer. Susskind
had almost 90 producing credits on TV and the silver screen between 1951 and
1983, sharing Emmys for the 1967 film adaptation of Death of a
Salesman (1966) as well as Eleanor and Franklin (1976) and Eleanor
and Franklin: The White House Years (1977). Lightly toned and
creased.Signature is over printed legal language. Otherwise, fine
condition.
