DAVID WHITE
Black and white publicity photograph of David White wearing a pin stripped suit and tie.
Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Betty Moose/The patience of Job/as they rest to God/Bes/David/White". B/w, 8x10. Although character actor David White (1916-1990) appeared on Broadway, in films and on numerous TV shows and series, he is perhaps best known for his role as advertising executive Larry Tate, Darrin Stephen's boss at McMann & Tate, on the hit TV sitcom, Bewitched (1964-1972). White, who had earlier been a regular on The Betty Hutton Show (1959), guest starred on a long list of TV shows, from The Goodyear Television Playhouse in 1951 to three series (Dynasty, Dallas and The A-Team) in 1986, and appeared in several made-for-TV movies. He had debuted in films in 1957 in Sweet Smell of Success, and went on to appear in such movies as The Apartment (1960), Sunrise at Campobello (1960), The Great Imposter (1961) and Brewster's Millions (1985). White, who had appeared on Broadway in The Pink Elephant (1953) and A Roomful of Roses (1955), remained active on the stage as a member of the prestigious Theatre West Company and the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.
