Baseball signed by football Hall of Famer and one-quarter of the Fearsome Foursome
Baseball signed "Deacon Jones" between seams. Rawlings baseball. Deacon Jones (1938-2013),
who had a 13-year pro football career, was one-quarter of the Fearsome Foursome, the left
side of the Los Angeles Rams' defensive line, from 1961 to 1971. The Rams defensive line
was considered to be one of the best lines of all time. Jones himself was picked for the NFL
1960's All Decade Team and the NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team, as well as eight
Pro Bowls. His honors culminated in 1980, when he was elected to the Pro Football Hall of
Fame. Jones also had 173.5 sacks, a term that he's credited with coining, in 190 games
played. He even kicked an extra point attempt in 1974 with the Washington Redskins, which
was good. After retiring, he became a television actor and appeared in a number of shows,
usually in cameo roles. Lightly soiled, otherwise in fine condition.
