Depicted in his role as Clark Kent/Superman on Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, the 1993-1997 Emmy-nominated drama that made stars of both Cain and his co-star, Teri Hatcher. The show, an attempt at a more sophisticated look at Superman and Lois Lane, developed a loyal following and remained popular until Lois and Superman married in early 1997. The ratings then dropped dramatically and the show was cancelled. Syndicated repeats, however, continued airing on cable television. Dean Cain (born Dean Tanaka in 1966), the son of actress Sharon Thomas, began his show business career in commericials and then appeared in several films and made-for-TV movies before landing his break-through role in this series. Since starring as Superman, Cain has also hosted Ripley's Believe It or Not! (1999), starred as Conrad Dean on Clubhouse (2004-2005) and made recurring appearances on The Division (as Jack Ellis) and Hope & Faith (as Larry Walker). He has also appeared in a number of made-for-TV movies, including The Perfect Husband: The Laci Peterson Story (2004), in which he played Scott Peterson. Cain's feature films include Going Under (1990), Miracle Beach (1992), Eating Las Vegas (1997), Firetrap (2001), Rat Race (2001), Out of Time (2003), P.I.: Post Impact (2004), Truth (2005), Bailey's Billion$ (2005) and September Dawn (2006).
