Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Jane,/With best/wishes./Dean Jones". B/w, 3½x5½ overall,
image 3x4¾ (one surface). Dean Jones (1931-2015) began his show business career as a blues
singer, but he is best known as an actor. Best known for his appearances in light-hearted
fare, such as the Disney films, The Ugly Dachshund (1965), The Love Bug (1968) and The
Boatniks (1970), Jones made his film debut in 1956, appearing in six films that year,
including Tea and Sympathy. His other film credits include Jailhouse Rock (1957), The New
Interns (1964), The Shaggy D.A. (1976), Beethoven (1992) and Clear and Present Danger
(1994), and Jones has also starred in a number of religious-themed documentaries as well as
made-for-TV movies. His other small screen credits include two TV series, The Chicago
Teddy Bears (1971) and Herbie, the Love Bug (1982), as well as numerous appearances on
Disneyland and guest starring roles on a number of other TV series. Jones, who has also
appeared on Broadway, published his autobiography, Under Running Laughter, in 1982.
