Autograph lyrics signed "All my best/Dean Pitchford" in blue ink. Pencil notations in unknown hand on verso. 1 page, 8¼x2¾ music bar paper with two binder holes at left edge. Three lines from Pitchford's song Footloose, which was a no. 1 hit for Kenny Loggins in 1984. American song and screenwright Pitchford, born in 1951, earned a shared Oscar for writing the title song to the movie Fame (1980) and a shared nomination for the song After All from 1989's Chances Are. He also wrote the script and much of the soundtrack for the teen rebellion musical Footloose (1984). Footloose earned him a shared Oscar nomination for the titular song and, in 1999, Tony Awards for Best Original Musical Score and Best Book in a Musical. In all, Footloose earned Pitchford three of his 11 top 20 pop songs, including Footloose, which topped the pops for Kenny Loggins, and Deniece Williams' no. 1 hit Let's Hear It for the Boy. He also wrote the song Don't Call It Love, which peaked at No. 3 on country charts for Dolly Parton in 1985. Irregular top and bottom edges. Neatly torn from binding at left edge.
