DENNIS FRANZ. Photograph signed: "Dennis/Franz". Color, 8x10. Although he made his film debut in 1978 (The Fury) and has appeared on television since 1982 (Chicago Story), actor Dennis Franz, born Dennis Franz Schlachta in 1944, is best known for his Emmy Award-winning role as Detective Andy Sipowicz on NYPD Blue (from 1993). Franz began his association with the show's creator, Steven Bochco, in the 1980s and appeared in a number of Bochco's other series, including Bay City Blues (1983) and Hill Street Blues (as Sal Benedetto, 1983; as Norm Buntz, 1985-1987). His other TV credits include such series as Simon & Simon, Hardcastle and McCormick, Hunter, The A-Team and Matlock, and Franz has also appeared in several made-for-TV movies as well as feature films including Dressed to Kill (1980), Popeye (1980), Psycho II (1983), Body Double (1984), American Buffalo (1996) and City of Angels (1998). He was also the voice of Captain Klegghorn in the animated TV series, The Mighty Ducks (1996), and the animated feature film, Mighty Ducks the Movie: The First Face-off (1997). Fine condition.
