The NHL player signs his name in blue felt tip on this 3½x5½ black and white photograph.
Photograph signed: "Dennis Polonich", in blue ink, B/w 3½x5½. Dennis Polonich (b. 1953) is a retired NHL player, playing for 8 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings (1974-1983). Polonich was known for his confrontational playing style, and amassed a total of 1,242 penalty minutes in his 8 season career with the Red Wings. He had a short lived position as captain of the Red Wings when their normal captain, Danny Grant, was injured, but would become a player again shortly after he returned. In a game against the Colorado Rockies, Polonich was attacked by opposing player Wilf Paiement, being struck with a hockey stick across the face. The strike resulted in a concussion, lacerations, and a broken nose. The broken nose caused breathing problems for Polonich, and would affect him for the rest of his career. Pencil note (unknown hand) on verso. Corners slightly worn. Fine condition.
