THE SUPREMES: DIANA ROSS and MARY WILSON Pick guard signed by both in blue felt tip. Wilson has added the title of a post-Ross recording by the Supremes Pick Guard signed: "Diana Ross", "You Turned Me Around/ Mary Wilson" both in blue felt tip, 11x9. DIANA ROSS first earned fame as lead singer of The Supremes, signed by Motown in 1961. After a decade and 12 number one hits, The Supremes had become the third biggest pop act of the sixties, trailing only the Beatles and Elvis. They scored 12 No. 1 hits, including "Where Did Our Love Go?", "Baby Love", "Stop! In the Name of Love" and "Someday We'll Be Together".  In 1970 Ross left the group, continuing to score hits as a solo artist. She won a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress in "Lady Sings the Blues". In 1993, Ross unveiled her star on the "Sidewalk of the Stars" outside of Radio City Music Hall. In 1995, she received the Heritage Award for Career Achievement at the ninth annual Soul Train Music Awards. MARY WILSON, a co-founder of The Supremes (with Ross and Flo Ballard), is the only member to have stayed with the group since its inception in 1961. Wilson, who still tours as the head of a group called The Supremes starring Mary Wilson, represented The Supremes when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 for their impressive career. By 1970, Flo Ballard had left the group due to illness. "You Turned Me Around" is from a 1975 album, titled simply The Supremes. Since that time, Wilson has toured, recorded several solo albums and singles, lectured, and written two best-selling autobiographies: Dreamgirl: My Life as a Supreme (1986), and its sequel, Supreme Faith...Someday We'll be Together (1990). She has also acted on the stage, including three off-Broadway productions. Wilson is also known for her extensive charity work. Fine condition.
