DIANE CARLSON EVANS
Diane Carlson Evans sends an autograph letter as to how and why the Vietnam Women's Memorial idea was developed.
Autograph letter signed: "Diane Carlson Evans" on Vietnam Women's Memorial Project, Inc. note card. In full: "Dear John Bullard, Perhaps you will find the answers to your questions in their own book. Thank you so much for your letter and expressions of support for the Memorial effort. Suffice it to say I was driven by my experiences as an Army nurse (six years 1966-72), the fact that I am the mother of 3 sons and a daughter and the wife of a Utah man (Lehi) - all factors in the 'key elements' that drove me and supported me thru ten years of angst in the fulfillment of a dream. I believe my husband must be related to every Evans in Utah. His family is large and extended! We will be there in March. Sincerely, December, 1993" Evans is the founder and president of the Vietnam Women's Memorial Project. She served as a nurse in Vietnam. On November 11, 1993, the Vietnam Women's Memorial was dedicated in Washington, D.C. Fine condition.
