a role in the Broadway play Runways, drew critical acclaim for her first
screen appearance at age thirteen in A Little Romance (1979). She
had her first break out roll as an adult actress in the 1982 film The
Outsiders. Among her noteworthy film credits are Rumble Fish
(1983), the TV miniseries Lonesome Dove (1989), A Walk on the Moon
(1999), The Perfect Storm (2000) and Unfaithful (which gained her
an Oscar nomination in 2002). In 2003, she was named ShoWest's Female
Star of the Year. Lane has been involved with several charities that
focus on world hunger as well as Artists for Peace and Justice. Minimal creasing
