DIANE SAWYER She inscribes this color photo in gold ink to a fan Inscribed Photograph signed: "For Dale/ Cheers!/ Diane Sawyer" Color, 8x10. Having come to Washington to help President Nixon write his memoirs, Diane Sawyer (b. 1945) decided to stick around the capital to report for CBS. She earned a reputation for integrity within the news industry but denied rumors that she was the "Deep Throat" whose leaks to reporters led to Nixon's resignation (the source has since been revealed). In 1984, Sawyer became the first woman correspondent on 60 Minutes, but she jumped to ABC to co-host Prime Time Live (1989) and later Turning Point (1994). In January 1999, she became the co-host of Good Morning America. Her honors include Emmy Awards, a George Foster Peabody Award for public service, an IRTS Lifetime Achievement Award, a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and the USC Distinguished Achievement in Journalism Award. Sawyer is married to award-winning director Mike Nichols. Lightly creased at upper right blank corner. Minor surface creases and smudges (not evident head on). Name written in an unknown hand in ink on verso (light impression, barely visible) at upper background. Otherwise, fine condition.
