DICK ENBERG
The longtime NBC sports announcer is featured on 1989 trading card, signs name in black ink
Inscribed trading/sports card signed: "To Sandra -/ Dick Enberg" in black ink. 2½x3½ 1989 NFL trading card featuring photo of the announcer on front and his biography on verso. Former assistant college baseball coach Dick Enberg (b. 1935) began doing play-by-plays for local minor league teams before becoming the play-by-play announcer for the then-Los Angeles Rams, then-California Angels and the UCLA Bruins. After finding fame as the sports announcer in the 1970 cartoon, Where's Huddles, Enberg went on to host such shows as Sports Challenge (1971) and NBC's Baffle (1973-1974) and Three for the Money (1975), before beginning his 25 years (1975-2000) as an NBC sports broadcaster. Beginning with NFL games in 1975, Enberg became the play-by-play announcer for the NFL (including eight Super Bowls), college and NBA basketball, golf and tennis. He then began broadcasting for CBS, again covering the NFL as well as college basketball and the U.S. Open tennis tournament. In addition to his TV work, Enberg can be seen or heard in a number of feature films and made-for-TV movies, usually as an announcer or interviewer. Toned. Corners rounded. Otherwise, fine condition.
