DILYS WATLING
The Tony Award nominated actress signs this 5x3½ photograph of herself shown looking over her shoulder into the camera
Photograph Signed: "[inscription covered with correction fluid]/ much love/Dilys Watling", B/w 5x3½. English actress Dilys Watling (b. 1946) spent thirty-two years in the industry performing roles ranging from bit parts in television series to a starring role in a Broadway musical: Georgy (1970). She is best known, however, for her roles in British television shows including her role as Merle Baker in the 1960s series Coronation Street, and her roles in the 1970s television series The Two Ronnies. In 1970, Watling was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her starring role in Georgy. While Georgy proved to be her only Broadway appearance, Watling appeared in other stage productions including Pickwick (1964) and Time (1986). She is the sister to actress Deborah Walting and actor Giles Walting. Ink stamp on verso (no show-through). Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso. Corners lightly creased and worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
