DINAH SHORE
$40 check signed by singer Dinah Shore in 1977
Check signed: "Dinah Shore" in red ink. 8¼x3¼. Nov. 30, 1977. Check no. 12099 for $40, payable to Beverly Hills Dental X-Ray Laboratory drawn on the account of Dinah Shore c/o Perry & Neidorf at the head office of City National Bank of Beverly Hills, California. Shore (1917-1994), a popular solo songstress, produced such 1940s hits as Buttons and Bows, Blues in the Night, You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To and I'll Walk Alone. She moved on to a successful TV career with a musical show, The Dinah Shore Chevy Show (1956-1962), and a series of talk shows (1970-1980). It has been said that her opening and closing lyrics of the Chevy Show - "See the U.S.A. in your Chevrolet... America's the greatest land of all" - practically defined the 1950s. Lightly toned and creased. Normal bank stamps; show-through from verso touches signature. Light tear in top left corner. Folded once and unfolded. Otherwise in fine condition.
