Dinah Shore signs a contract to be a guest performer on a radio program in 1942
Contract signed: "Dinah Shore". 1p, 8½x13. New York City, 1942 February 11. Contract between Management Corporation of America and Shore for her appearance as a Guest on a series of radio programs advertising the products of The Coca-Cola Company on March 1, 1942, for $1800. DINAH SHORE (1917-1994), a popular solo songstress, produced such 1940s hits as "Buttons and Bows", "Blues in the Night", "You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To" and "I'll Walk Alone". She moved on to a successful TV career with a musical show, The Dinah Shore Chevy Show (1956-1962), and a series of talk shows (1970-1980). It has been said that the above quoted trademark opening of her Chevy Show (which continued, "America's the greatest land of all") practically defined the 1950s. Horizontal fold at 10 from top. Small notch, paperclip crease, and stains at top edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
