Contract signed: "Dinah Shore". 2p, front and verso, 8½x11. New York, 1951 August 7. Contract between Paramount Theatres Service Corporation and Shore for her appearance as Performer at a theatre in Chicago for a period of one week commencing August 17, 1951, for $20,000 plus 50/50 split on box office receipts over $60,000. DINAH SHORE (1917-1994), a popular solo songstress, produced such 1940s hits as "Buttons and Bows", "Blues in the Night", "You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To" and "I'll Walk Alone". She moved on to a successful TV career with a musical show, The Dinah Shore Chevy Show (1956-1962), and a series of talk shows (1970-1980). It has been said that the above quoted trademark opening of her Chevy Show (which continued, "America's the greatest land of all") practically defined the 1950s. Multiple staple holes and tattered edge at top. Lightly creased and soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
