Autograph Document Unsigned: One page 8 ½ x 22 test scene for an animation. Personal
production footage 7-0. Showing a drawing by drawing order of animation in the piece.
Annotated directions and camera information in red pencil. Not signed, but test scene written
up by him. Includes 212 drawing documentations. James Algar (1912-1998) was one of the
three animators who created Snow White's animal friends for Disney's first cartoon
feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In 1937, Algar directed a cartoon short, The
Sorcerer's Apprentice, which became the basis for Fantasia. He later directed many of
Disney's nature films and eventually became a producer. Algar was named a Disney Legend in
1998, 64 years after he was first named an animator. Toned. Minor tears on left edge.
