DOM DE LUISE
He signs an illustrated advertising manual for his 1979 film Hot Stuff
Advertisement signed: "Dom/De Luise/84/XX/[drawn smiley face]". B/w, 18 pages, 8½x14. Illustrated merchandising and advertising manual for the movie Hot Stuff (1979). The manual includes biographies of the film's major stars, as well as promotional ads and publicity materials, including suggestions/instructions for everything from promo wet t-shirt contests to "Hot Stuff" themed engagement parties. The book was intended for merchandisers interested in profiting off the film, and perhaps was exclusively offered to a select group of publicists. Comic actor Dom DeLuise (1933-2009) has appeared on Broadway and on the big and small screens. His feature films include The Glass-Bottom Boat (1966), The Twelve Chairs (1970), Blazing Saddles (1974), Silent Movie (1976), The Muppet Movie (1979), History of the World - Part 1 (1981), The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982), Spaceballs (1987) and Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993), and DeLuise also hosted a weekly summer variety program on TV. A lifelong opera buff, DeLuise has been given the opportunity from time to time to perform with various opera companies. In 1995, he brought down the house at New York's Metropolitan in the role of Frosh the Jailer in Die Fledermaus. Creased throughout, especially at corners. Left edge lightly worn. Horizontal fold through center. Otherwise, fine condition.
