DON DEMETER
The Phillies outfielder signs his Topps trading card in blue ink
Trading/Sports Card signed: "Don/Demeter". In blue ink, Color, 3½x2½. Topps baseball card #268. Major League batting stats on verso. Don Demeter (1935-2021) was a hard hitting outfielder who could also play first and third base. He played 11 Major League seasons (1956-1967), most of his at bats coming with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies. He was on the Dodgers' World Championship team of 1959, and had his best season with the Phils in 1962: 29 homers and 109 RBI's. The Tigers wanted him badly enough to trade future Hall of Fame pitcher Jim Bunning for him. Corners lightly worn. Fine condition.
