DON DRYSDALE
Baseball Hall of Famer Don Drysdale signed this document in 1963 to
hire the William Morris Agency as his media agent for three years in return for
a 10 percent commission.
Contract signed by "Don Drysdale" in blue ink and by a
representative of the William Morris Agency in black ink. Blue and black ink
notations, all in unknown hand. 2 pages, 8¼x13¾, 1 sheet, front and verso, two
binder holes at top edge. July 29, 1963. Drysdale signed this document to
hire the William Morris Agency as his media agent for three years in return for
a 10 percent commission. Drysdale (1936-1993) was a right-hand pitcher
who spent his entire pro career (1956-1968) with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He
and Sandy Koufax were one of the best pitching duos ever. An 8-time All-Star, he
led the league in wins in 1962 and threw six consecutive shutouts in 1968.
Fear was a major weapon in Drysdale's arsenal. He hit more batters than any
pitcher in the 20th century. An announcer after his playing days, "Big D"
entered the Hall of Fame in 1984. Between 1959 and 1966, the Dodgers won
four pennants and three World Series without scoring many runs... but then, with
Drysdale and Koufax on the mound, they didn't need many. Lgithly toned and
creased. Staple holes at top edge. Folded once horizontally and unfolded.
Otherwise in fine condition.
